THOUGHTS:
The Down East Boys are back with yet another top notch recording. This six song EP features the stellar vocal lineup of lead singer Ricky Carden, tenor Doug Pittman, bass Alex Utech, and baritone Daryl Paschal (who recently departed the group).
The title track featuring Ricky Carden is a fun, country flavored tune that simply says: there’s a song for whatever you're facing in your life. Doug Pittman shines on the beautiful ballad “Love Worth Dying For,” which reminds us of Christ’s Sacrifice. “Celebration At The Empty Grave,” the first single from the project, is a great barn burner that tells of the Resurrection. The catchy lyrics and stellar vocals make this a hit! Alex Utech’s smooth bass is featured on the first verse of “A Song About Going Home.” This fantastic song simply says: the one song you won’t around the throne is a song about going home. Ricky Carden takes the lead again on a song he co-wrote called “The Song Of The Redeemed.” This up-tempo, energy filled tune tells of the song we’ll be singing on the way to Heaven. A song of freedom for all who believe. The EP closes with a rousing rendition of the Dottie Rambo penned classic “Until He Comes.” This beautiful song simply says: there is a refuge at Calvary until He comes.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
YET ANOTHER FANTASTIC RECORDING FOR THIS TALENTED GROUP! TOP NOTCH VOCALS AND GREAT SONGS. A GREAT COMPANION PIECE TO THEIR PREVIOUS RELEASE THE STORIES WE TELL. “CELEBRATION AT THE EMPTY GRAVE” HAS BEEN ON REPEAT SINCE I FIRST HEARD IT!
