THOUGHTS:

The LeFevre Quartet is back with a new project following an eventful year. Last summer, Mike LeFevre announced that the group would be retiring at the end of the year. Bass vocalist Will Lane departed the group following the announcement. Christian Davis filled the bass position for the rest of their tour dates through the fall. Fast forward to March of this year (2023), the group announced their decision to return to the road on a more limited basis. Jonathan Price joined as the group’s new tenor (replacing Jay Parrack) and Christian Davis returned as an official member. They are joined by former Poet Voices and Gold City pianist Channing Eleton.

This stellar album opens with the catchy title track that simply says: there is no one like Jesus. Christian Davis’s smooth bass voice shines on the country styled “Cast My Burdens.” Jonathan Price takes the lead on “Looks Like A Miracle To Me,” a

“Glory Bound,” featuring Jordan LeFevre, is a beautiful anthem that looks to Heaven with anticipation. “Things We Cannot Change,” featuring Mike LeFevre, is a groovy tune that reminds us that Christ is the one truth that remains through this changing world. He is our Hope, our Rock, and the unchanging God. Christian Davis takes the lead again “Man In The Middle,” a mid-tempo track that tells of Christ the burden bearer. He is all we need. He reached me with Mercy and is protecting my life. Davis delivers a stellar performance showcasing his incredible upper register. Mike LeFevre shines on the inspirational ballad “Never Walk Alone,” which reminds us that Christ is always with us.

Jonathan Price takes the lead again on “Because Of Who He Is,” a groovy mid-tempo that simply says: I am who I am because of who He is. This incredible album closes with “There Is A Name,” a powerful anthem featuring Jordan LeFevre. Praise the name of Jesus. One name alone deserves our praise! The Name above all names!

FINAL THOUGHTS:

THE LEFEVRE QUARTET IS BACK! THIS ALBUM IS YET ANOTHER STELLAR ADDITION TO THEIR DISCOGRAPHY. THIS LINEUP BLENDS TOGETHER REALLY WELL. I’VE BEEN A FAN OF BOTH JONATHAN PRICE (WHEN HE WAS WITH THE DOVE BROTHERS) AND CHRISTIAN DAVIS  AND LOVE THAT THEY ARE BACK IN A QUARTET. STELLAR VOCALS, INCREDIBLE SONGS, AND TOP NOTCH MUSICIANSHIP. HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: “MAN IN THE MIDDLE,” “CAST MY BURDENS,” “NOBODY LIKE JESUS,” AND “THERE IS A NAME.”
