THOUGHTS:

Legacy Five is back with yet another delightful recording featuring some popular songs from the pen of their tenor singer Lee Black. This seven song collection features stripped down versions of these songs made popular by groups such as Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, Triumphant Quartet, Tribute Quartet, and of course Legacy Five themselves.

This stellar recording opens with the joyful “Heaven Is,” originally recorded by Ernie Haase & Signature Sound. This fun song tells of Heaven and the joy of knowing we will live there with Christ! “Amazing God,” originally recorded by Triumphant Quartet, praises Christ, who remains unchanging and faithful. Matt Fouch and Lee Black share the verses on this powerful mid-tempo track. “Ain’t It Just Like The Lord” is a fun, groovy tune featuring Bryan Walker that tells of the miracles of Christ. He can do what can’t be done! Legacy Five revisits one of their hits with “In The Hands Of A Carpenter” which is a beautiful lyric that tells the story of Jesus in such a powerful way. “Salvation flowed and Love prevailed, the day the fate of this whole world fell in the hands of a carpenter.” Scott Fowler takes the lead on this incredible song which originally featured former pianist Trey Ivey. The group then covers the powerful anthem “I Want To Be That Man,” originally recorded by Brian Free & Assurance. Bryan Walker takes the lead on this well crafted lyric that describes what it means to be a God fearing man. Next, they put their spin on the popular Triumphant Quartet tune “Going There” which looks to Heaven with excitement. This stellar album closes with a deeply moving rendition of “When The Prodigal Comes Home,” originally recorded by Tribute Quartet. Lee Black delivers a simply brilliant performance on this powerful song of redemption and forgiveness. “There is no condemnation, just a Father who’s been waiting to put His Arms around you. Oh, the anticipation! What a great celebration. For you were lost, but now He’s found you. There is only rejoicing and a tender kindness shown, when the prodigal comes home.” God will always love you. No matter how you’ve wandered. He’s been waiting to put His loving arms around you.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

ANOTHER INCREDIBLE ALBUM FROM LEGACY FIVE! I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED LEE BLACK’S SONGWRITING AND THIS CD FEATURES SOME OF HIS BEST. IT WAS TRULY A JOY TO LISTEN TO LEGACY FIVE’S TAKE ON THESE SONGS THAT WERE ORIGINALLY PERFORMED BY SOME OF MY OTHER FAVORITE ARTISTS. INCREDIBLE SONGS AND PURE FOUR PART HARMONY ACCOMPANIED BY A PIANO! WHAT MORE COULD YOU POSSIBLY ASK FOR!

5 OUT OF 5 STARS!
