THOUGHTS:

If you have been following this blog for any length of time, you will know that I am a big fan of classic quartet music. In addition, I love when the groups of today cover those old classics. So it should be no surprise that this record is one of my favorites of the year! Tribute Quartet is back with yet another stellar collection of timeless quartet classics with Quartet Tribute Volume Two (a follow up to their popular first volume). Gary Casto, Josh Singletary, Anthony Davis, and Gus Gaches shine on this fun, quartet tribute collection.

This incredible album opens with the uptempo bass singer standout “Go Right Out.” Anthony Davis nails the bass leads on this song about sharing the Gospel. Josh Singletary takes the lead on the Florida Boys classic “Happy Tracks,” a fun, bouncy tune about spreading love and kindness everywhere you go. Next, the group showcases their smooth, intricate harmonies on the timeless “Not My Will,” which asks the Lord to guide our steps. Gus Gaches’s smooth tenor shines on the second verse of this powerful song. Gary Casto takes the lead on the mid-tempo tune “That Heavenly Home,” which looks to Heaven, our forever home. Singletary shines on the powerful Squire Parsons classic “I Call It Home.” This beautiful track reminds us that this world is not our home and the best is yet to come! Some call it Heaven, but I just call it Home! Next, the group delivers a fun rendition of the groovy “Someday” (previously covered by Ernie Haase & Signature Sound) which features Gary Casto and some incredible bass notes from Anthony Davis. The group showcases their smooth, classic, four part harmonies on “Sinner’s Plea,” while Davis and Gaches shine on the up-tempo “On The Sunny Side.” The group shines on “Must I Go (And Empty Handed)” a beautiful hymn that looks to our reunion with Christ in Heaven. This stellar album closes with a rousing rendition of “The Spirit Will Come Down.” This Gary Casto led tune simply invites Christ down and rejoices in His Presence!
