THOUGHTS:
My Jesus is the second album from the LeFevre Quartet since Jay Parrack, Will Lane, and Bryan Elliott joined the group. This lineup has quickly become one of my favorites in the group’s history. This exciting new project features eight songs that are sure to delight listeners.
Beloved tenor Jay Parrack takes the lead on the opening track “God’s Been Good.” This mid-tempo tune praises Christ for His goodness and blessings on us. Mike LeFevre shines on the title track which is a fantastic cover of Anne Wilson’s praise filled song. My Jesus makes a way. His Love is strong and His Grace is free! Let Jesus change your life! “All The Praise” is a beautiful worship styled song that celebrates our Creator and Redeemer. Will Lane takes the lead on the groovy “Empty Throne,” which reminds us that God is in control. Lane’s smooth bass voice shines on this encouraging song. “It’s Gonna Be Wonderful,” previously recorded by The Florida Boys,is a fun,up-tempo tune that has that classic quartet feel to it. Jordan LeFevre takes the lead on the Michael English classic “A Place Called Hope,” and in my humble opinion, does the song justice. Jay Parrack’s soaring tenor is featured once again on the mid-tempo “Call On Jesus” which tells of Christ’s faithfulness. He is always there. When we call on Him, all things are possible. “Devil,” another Anne Wilson cover, features Will Lane and tells of Christ’s resurrection and victory over the Devil. It encourages listeners to stand firm in Christ against the Devil’s temptations.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
THE LEFEVRE QUARTET ONCE AGAIN DELIVERS ANOTHER GREAT RECORDING. TOP NOTCH VOCALS, WELL CRAFTED SONGS, AND GREAT MUSICIANSHIP. I WOULD’VE HAVE LIKE ANOTHER SONG OR TWO, BUT THAT DOESN’T DETRACT FROM THE QUALITY OF THIS RECORDING. HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: “DEVIL,” “IT’S GONNA BE WONDERFUL,” AND “CALL ON JESUS.”
