THOUGHTS:

Sounds Of Jericho, hailing from Gainesville, Georgia, is a stellar quartet founded by two former members of the LeFevre Quartet: Stephen Sigmon (Tenor) and Stacy Bragg (Bass) Sigmon and Bragg are joined by seasoned baritone Ken Thomas and smooth lead Matt Tyler. This exciting new project features eleven songs of hope and inspiration that are sure to be comfort to listeners everywhere.

“This Ain’t That” is an energetic opener, featuring Ken Thomas, that describes the transforming joy of the Lord. The groovy “When That Seeing Man Saw,” written by Rodney Griffin, tells the story of the blind man receiving sight. Matt Tyler takes the lead on the second verse while Stacy Bragg’s booming bass can be heard on some low step out lines in the chorus. Bragg and Thomas are featured on the tender ballad “God Sees Your Storm.” This song encourages listeners to trust God for He knows what lies ahead and will bring you through each trial. The title track “Joy Looks Good On You,” is a fun, groovy tune, once again featuring Ken Thomas, that encourages listeners to walk in the light and truth of Christ. His transforming Mercy and Joy look good on you! Stephen Sigmon shines on the mid-tempo “A Different Light,” which simply proclaims: “My sin has been covered. Hid from His sight. Now that He sees me in a different light.” God has saved me from my sin and now I’m seen in a different light. Stacy Bragg takes the lead once again on the groovy “Forget My Name,” which simply tells the Devil to scram! We are God’s children and the Devil’s hold on us is no more! “I Don’t Wanna Leave This Holy Ground” features Matt Tyler and simply thanks Christ for the peace He brings into our lives. Next, the group shines on the JD Sumner classic “The Greatest Of These Is Love.” This classic quartet style song highlights the incredible blend of the group. “We’re Going Home” is a catchy upbeat quartet song that looks forward to the day we join Christ in Heaven. This great album closes with a powerful rendition of the classic “When They Found Nothing” and an acapella version of the hymn “I Rejoice In The Lord.”

FINAL THOUGHTS:

PRIOR TO THIS CD, I HAD NOT LISTENED TO MUCH OF THIS GROUP. I MUST SAY THAT I AM THOROUGHLY IMPRESSED! INCREDIBLE VOCALS, HARMONIES, TOP NOTCH MUSICIANSHIP, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY INCREDIBLE SONGS! HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: “WE’RE GOING HOME,” “I REJOICE IN THE LORD,” “JOY LOOKS GOOD ON YOU,” “A DIFFERENT LIGHT,” AND FORGET MY NAME.”

A MUST BUY FOR FANS OF CLASSIC QUARTET MUSIC!
