THOUGHTS:
Triumphant Quartet kicks off 2021 with a bang! This talented and beloved group delivers another hit record with Bigger Than Sunday. This exciting recording features well crafted songs of hope and inspiration. Scott Inman co-wrote many of the songs on this project truly showcasing his songwriting talent. The consistent lineup of Clayton Inman, Scott Inman, David Sutton, and Eric Bennett continue to outdo themselves vocally. This album features some of their best work in my opinion.
The album opens with a smooth mid-tempo tune entitled “Best Thing.” Scott Inman takes the lead on this song that simply praises Christ, who is the best thing that has happened to us. “He Walked Out” is an epic, beat driven song that tells the story of Christ’s Resurrection. Clayton Inman and Scott Inman take the lead on the powerful ballad “How Saved I Am,” which praises Christ for His Mercy and Grace! I was broken and fell into arms wide open! “How lost I was, how saved I am.” The energetic title track reminds listeners that God is bigger than anything they face. His Love is bigger than Sunday. Clayton Inman is featured once again on the tender mid-tempo track “Don’t Miss Jesus.” This timely tune urges listeners to get back to what we are all here for: Jesus. There is only one thing that matters most: Jesus. We tend to get bogged down in the things of this world that we miss the truth: Jesus. Triumphant has a knack for taking contemporary worship songs and making them their own. “Way Maker” is another incredible example of this. This powerful anthem praises Christ, who never stops working all things for our good. “Sing Hallelujah,” is a fun, groovy tune that features each member and simply lifts praises to Christ. Eric Bennett’s smooth bass is front and center on a beautiful version of Bethel Music’s “The Goodness Of God.” This powerful ballad tells of the faithfulness of God. With every breath, I will sing of His Goodness. This is, in my opinion, one of Eric Bennett’s finest vocal features. David Sutton is featured on another beautiful ballad “Hope Is Holding Me,” which encourages listeners that our hope is in Christ. This incredible album closes with a fun medley of Triumphant Quartet hits including “Saved By Grace,” “Chain Breaker,” “When The Trumpet Sounds,” “Amazing God,” and Somebody Died For Me.”
FINAL THOUGHTS:
BIGGER THAN SUNDAY IS ONE OF TRIUMPHANT QUARTET’S BEST ALBUMS TO DATE. WELL CRAFTED SONGS, STELLAR VOCALS, AND TOP NOTCH PRODUCTION QUALITY. HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: “SING HALLELUJAH,” “BIGGER THAN SUNDAY,” “HE WALKED OUT,” “HOW SAVED I AM,” AND “DON’T MISS JESUS.”
5 OUT 5 STARS!
