THOUGHTS:
The LeFevre Quartet is back with yet another incredible album. Last year, the group added three new members including: legendary Gold City tenor Jay Parrack, former Anchorman bass singer Will Lane, and former Gold City pianist Bryan Elliott. Along with Mike and Jordan LeFevre, this new lineup shines on this eight song album entitled Hope. This stellar quartet is back to remind listeners of the hope Christ brings even in the most troubled times.
The album opens with “Practice What You’re Preaching,” a driving tune that encourages listeners to truly follow Christ in all your ways. Jay Parrack takes the lead on the powerful mid-tempo ballad “Between The Prayer And The Answer,” which is the group’s current single. This incredible song reminds us that Jesus hears your prayers and works all things for your good in His time. He mends broken lives! That’s what God does between the prayer and the answer. Parrack’s tenor vocals continue to blow me away. His voice keeps getting better and better. Next, Mike LeFevre’s smooth baritone shines on the groovy “Bigger Boat,” which simply encourages listeners to put their faith in Jesus and blessings will overflow! Jordan LeFevre takes the lead on “The 99,” a powerful mid-tempo track that tells of Jesus’ Love for us. He will do anything to save those who go astray. Parrack is featured once again on the classic quartet tune “Whosoever Will,” which simply tells of Christ’s transforming power. He will set you free from the chains that bind you if you believe in Him! Will Lane shines on the groovy “Dry Bones,” which showcases his rich bass voice and tells of Christ’s faithfulness. Mike LeFevre is featured once again on the mid-tempo tune “He’ll Come Through For You,” which simply reminds us that Christ is always there for us. He will come through for you! This stellar album closes with “O My Soul Will Rest In Jesus,” a powerful hymn that praises Christ Our Savior. He is our hope and deliverer.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
HOPE IS ANOTHER HIT FOR THE LEFEVRE QUARTET! WHILE I WOULD’VE PREFERRED A FULL 10 SONG ALBUM, I LOVED THE SONG SELECTION HERE. THE NEW LINEUP FELT AS THOUGH THEY HAD BEEN SINGING TOGETHER FOR YEARS! IT IS GREAT TO HEAR JAY PARRACK’S SOARING TENOR AGAIN. HE HAS NOT MISSED A BEAT SINCE HIS GOLD CITY DAYS! HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: “DRY BONES,” “BIGGER BOAT,” “WHOSOEVER WILL,” AND “BETWEEN THE PRAYER AND THE ANSWER.” I CAN’T WAIT TO HEAR MORE FROM THIS INCREDIBLE LINEUP.
