THOUGHTS:
Pastor John Hagee has been preaching the Gospel decades. His son Matt Hagee honors his service with this new live CD/DVD concert video featuring Hagee’s group Canton Junction. “Great Is Thy Faithfulness finds members Matt Hagee, Tim Duncan, Casey Rivers and ACM Award-winning vocalist/musician Gordon Mote showcasing their unmistakable blends in concert, performing riveting renditions of household favorites (Gaither Website).”
This exciting project kicks off with a groovy arrangement of the classic “We’ll Soon Be Done WIth Troubles And Trials,” which showcases Tim Duncan’s impressive bass singing. Speaking of Duncan, he is featured on the Statesmen Quartet classic “Up Above My Head,'' which once again features his smooth bass tones. Newest member Gordon Mote is featured on the uptempo “Old Pine Box,” and the powerful ballad “Jesus Will Outshine Them All.” These poignant songs remind us that one day Jesus will take us home to Heaven. We won’t need that old pine box! Jesus outshines all of this world’s offerings. In a particularly moving moment, Mote expresses his excitement to be able to see Jesus when we make our Heavenly journey. Canton Junction then gathers around the piano for several classics including: “What A Meeting In The Air,” “I Must Tell Jesus,” and “I’m Free.” Casey Rivers and Tim Duncan shine on their respective verses on “I Must Tell Jesus.” Matt Hagee takes the lead on a beautiful medley of “I’d Rather Have Jesus” and “Great Is Thy Faithfulness,” which also showcases the group’s stellar harmonies. Next, the group puts their own groovy spin on the classics “Heaven’s Jubilee” and “I’ll Fly Away.” “Meet The Band” is a fun interlude in which Gordon Mote introduces the live band which includes legendary producer Garry Jones. “Does Jesus Care,” featuring Matt Hagee, reminds us that Christ cares for us. His heart is touched by our grief. When days are weary, I know my Savior cares! This stellar album closes with a powerful rendition of the hymn “How Great Thou Art,” which once again showcases Canton Junction’s incredible harmonies.

CANTON JUNCTION IS BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER! GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS LIVE IS YET ANOTHER STELLAR PROJECT FOR THE QUARTET. GORDON MOTE IS A FANTASTIC ADDITION TO THE GROUP ADDING NOT ONLY HIS INCREDIBLE PIANO PLAYING SKILLS, BUT HIS POWERFUL VOICE AS WELL. TIMELESS SONGS, GREAT VOCALS, AND TOP NOTCH PRODUCTION QUALITY.
