THOUGHTS:

“It doesn’t matter what you’ve done or where you’re from; It’s always enough when Jesus comes with nothing but love, pure love!”

Legacy Five is back and sounding better than ever (in my humble opinion). Pure Love is the first recording to feature the two newest members of the group Bryan Walker (Baritone) and Lee Black (Tenor), who joined the group this year following the departure of original member Scott Howard and longtime tenor Josh Feemester. Both Black and Walker are no strangers to Southern Gospel. Black is a prolific songwriter and Walker is a former member of the Perrys. These two incredible talents join Scott Fowler, Matt Fouch, and Josh Townsend. This exciting new album features eleven incredible songs that are sure to delight and bless listeners all over the world.

The album kicks off with a strong Scott Fowler feature called “What A Day.” This catchy tune simply looks forward to living in Heaven forever with Christ. What a day that day will be when Jesus welcomes me into Heaven!! “What Kind Of Man,” is simply brilliant. This powerful ballad praises Christ for His Mercy and Grace through the lense of Barabbas, Thomas, and Peter. This song showcases both new members with Bryan Walker taking the first verse, and Lee Black the third. Fowler also delivers another fantastic vocal on the second verse. This is honestly one of my favorite songs of the year in any genre. “What kind of man pours out His Mercy for someone who stumbles and falls. With no way to earn it, no way to deserve it, forgiveness still came after all.” Amen!! “That’s What Makes Believers Believe,” is a beautiful mid-tempo track that tells of the many blessings of Christ. He is the hope when all hope seems gone. The groovy title track features Lee Black (who also co-wrote it) and reminds us that God’s Love lasts forever. Unconditional. Unsurpassable. Pure Love. “It’s the glory of the Gospel. It’s the story of the broken hearted. How God makes something out of nothing.” It doesn’t matter what you’ve done. God will always love you.Black’s tenor vocal is simply incredible and blends perfectly with the group. This song is definitely one of my favorites on the album. “I Believe The Book,” features Bryan Walker and reminds listeners of the importance of God’s Word. I believe every line and every word in those sacred pages. Walker’s smooth baritone fits this song perfectly. “The Greatest Wonder,” is a fun, mid-tempo track that praises Christ as the greater wonder of the world and Heaven too. He is the life giver, the chain breaker, and soul mender! Bass singer Matt Fouch takes the lead on “Beggin’ For Change,” a fun, groovy song that tells of a beggar who meets Jesus. This catchy lyric reminds us that Jesus is change that we need. He is the one with the power, the one in control. I’m beggin’ for change that comes from Heaven! “Love Always Finds A Way,” is another mid-tempo track, featuring Scott Fowler, that encourages listeners that Jesus works all things for your good. He is always faithful so don’t lose hope. Love always finds a way. Black is featured once again on the fun, catchy “Middle Man.” This song, co-written by Black himself, reminds us that no matter what we face, Christ is with us. He is with us in the middle of the storm. He calms our fears! “Not Just Another Day,” is a fun, bouncy tune that simply says with Christ, it’s not just another day. It’s a miracle in the making! Fouch and Black are featured on the beautiful, choir backed ballad “Only Passing Through.” This powerful track reminds us that this world isn’t home. We are only passing through.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

LEGACY FIVE HAS DONE IT AGAIN!! PURE LOVE IS WITHOUT A DOUBT ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS OF THE YEAR! I WOULD EVEN GO SO FAR AS TO SAY IT IS ONE OF THE BEST PROJECTS THE GROUP HAS EVER RELEASE. LEE BLACK AND BRYAN WALKER ARE FANTASTIC ADDITIONS TO THE GROUP. I AM BLOWN AWAY BY THE TALENT OF BOTH MEN. I’VE ALWAYS ENJOYED BLACK’S SONGS, BUT I HAD NO IDEA HE WAS ALSO AN INCREDIBLE TENOR. THIS WAS ONE OF MY MOST ANTICIPATED ALBUMS OF THE YEAR AND IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. INCREDIBLE SONGS, STELLAR VOCALS, AND EXCELLENT MUSICIANSHIP.

5 OUT 5 STARS!!
