THOUGHTS:
Hailing from Moneta, Virginia, the Mark Dubbeld Family are well known for their signature style, family harmonies, and original songs of hope and inspiration. This talented family consists of Mark and Janene Dubbeld and their three children: Elena (23), Channing (18), and Britton (15). This unique album features ten new songs penned by both Janene and Elena and is a pure worship session. This album is my introduction to this group; and I must say I am very impressed.
This exciting new album opens with an invitational worship song “The Lord Is Here.” This uptempo track, led by Elena, simply proclaims the presence of the Lord is here. In awe, we stand amazed! He is alive and reigns forever! “Breathtaking,” featuring Channing and Elena, simply says: all I can do is praise Him for He is everything to me. Elena takes the lead on the mid-tempo ballad “I Leave It Up To You,” which is a song of surrender to Christ. God is in control. His ways are higher than ours. We must allow ourselves to let go and let God take control. “He Always Lives Up To His Name,” is a beautiful ballad that tells of Christ’s faithfulness. “He is always the same. No doubt about it. He is who He claims. He always lives up to His Name.” Elena delivers an incredible vocal performance on this powerful song. “By Your Promise,” is a groovy, mid-tempo tune that simply says: By the promise of Christ, I live. He lives through me and through Him I am victorious over sin. Mark and Elena are featured on the prayerful “No Other Desire.” This incredible song proclaims: I have no other desire than to follow Jesus. There is no other desire than your desire for me. The group picks up the tempo with the joyous “He Has Done Wonderous Things.” This song of praise tells of the many blessings Christ has given to us. Mark is again featured on “Living In Your Presence,” which says: I am perfectly content here in the presence of the Lord. Our strength is found in Him. He the delight in all I do! Next, the group puts a new spin on their song “My Answer Is Yes,” a mid-tempo tune that simply says: My answer is yes to whatever Christ would have me do. Wherever You lead, I’ll follow. This incredible album closes with the prayerful “Stay,” which asks the Lord to help us have willing ears to hear. Help us to obey Your Will. “Here I stay. Speak to me.”
FINAL THOUGHTS:
AS I SAID ABOVE, THIS WAS MY FIRST LISTENING EXPERIENCE WITH THIS GROUP AND I MUST SAY I’M IMPRESSED. THE MARK DUBBELD FAMILY DELIVERS A TRULY SPECIAL AND ANOINTED RECORDING WITH ABIDING WORSHIP. FEATURING INCREDIBLE FAMILY HARMONIES AND WELL CRAFTED SONGS OF PRAISE AND HOPE, THIS ALBUM IS SURE TO BE A DELIGHT FOR THOSE WHO LISTEN. ELENA AND CHANNING ESPECIALLY IMPRESSED ME WITH THEIR STRONG VOCALS. I’M ALWAYS IMPRESSED BY THE YOUNG TALENT IN SOUTHERN GOSPEL AND THESE TWO SIBLINGS ARE DEFINITELY AMONG SOME OF THE BEST I’VE HEARD. HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: “MY ANSWER IS YES,” “STAY,” “BY YOUR PROMISE,” AND “LIVING IN YOUR PRESENCE.” ALSO OF NOTE, THE ALBUM INCLUDES THE SONGS IN TWO FORMATS: INDIVIDUALLY AS USUAL AND A COMPLETE SESSION FEATURING ALL TEN SONGS WITH WORSHIPFUL INTERLUDES.
THIS IS A MUST BUY FOR ALL FANS OF SOUTHERN GOSPEL MUSIC.
