THOUGHTS:

The Crabb Family is one in a long line of talented families in Southern Gospel Music. Along with singing as a group, each member has experienced a stellar career as a soloist and elsewhere. Adam Crabb has been highly successful as the current lead singer of the Gaither Vocal Band as well as performing select solo concerts. In one of my favorite CDs so far this year, Crabb delivers eleven well crafted songs that are sure to bless all who listen. In my humble opinion, Crabb is one of the best lead vocalists in Southern Gospel Music currently. This exciting new album showcases his powerful and soulful voice as well as the Gospel in song.

The record opens with “Where I Belong,” a powerful mid-tempo track that simply says: We belong in the embrace of Christ! “Higher Than Mine,” reminds listeners that the ways of Christ are higher than ours. His light shines brighter and His Love is our anchor in troubled times. Crabb’s soulful voice shines on the unique, country styled “Devil’s Hand,” which warns of the temptations of Satan. “The road to Hell begins by holding the Devil’s hand.” “There Is A Healer” is one of my favorite tracks on this album. It boldly proclaims the healing power of Christ! Bring Him what is broken for He understands. There is hope for all! He can heal you if you ask. “Champion,” is an inspirational mid-tempo track that reminds us that Jesus is our champion over death and sin! Christ is alive in me! I will face whatever comes my way and overcome any obstacle for God is with me. The title track is a beautiful ballad that feels like a testimony in song. Crabb’s vocals are top notch as he delivers the lyrics with conviction and emotion. “There’s nothing too dirty that You can’t make worthy. You wash me in mercy. I am clean!” We are washed in the blood of His Sacrifice. “Love Will Take You Places,” is a well crafted song that simply says: love will take you places you never thought you would go. God’s calling on our lives can take us to many different places so we must be open to His Will. Crabb kicks it up a notch with the fun, up-tempo “Well Done My Child.” This quartet classic is given a groovy new spin here that is really enjoyable. Crabb also takes on the Gaither classic “The Old Rugged Cross Made The Difference,” and gives a stellar vocal performance on it. Two of his fellow GVB members (Reggie Smith and Bill Gaither) provide background vocals on this incredible song. “Voices From The Other Side,” is a mid-tempo track that looks toward Heaven and loved ones who have gone on home. “When I close my eyes, I can see you standing with the angels and the saints.” This incredible album closes with the groovy tune “War,” which tells of the spiritual battles we face.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS OF THE YEAR SO FAR IN MY HUMBLE OPINION. ADAM CRABB AND TEAM DELIVERS IN EVERY ASPECT: INCREDIBLE VOCALS, MEANINGFUL SONGS, TOP NOTCH PRODUCTION QUALITY AND MUSICIANSHIP. HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: “THE OLD RUGGED CROSS MADE THE DIFFERENCE,” “THERE IS A HEALER,” “WELL DONE MY CHILD,” “CLEAN,” AND “WAR.”

A MUST BUY FOR ALL FANS OF SOUTHERN GOSPEL MUSIC, THE CRABB FAMILY, AND THE GAITHER VOCAL BAND.
