THOUGHTS:

If you love the old hymns, look no further than this new project from the Talleys! On Hymns Of The Faith, this talented family trio showcase twelve of the most beloved hymns of the church and puts their stamp on them. This fantastic and inspirational album features a great mix beautiful accompaniment and stirring a Capella arrangements of these timeless classics.

The album kicks off with a powerful rendition of “Jesus What A Friend For Sinners,” which features each vocalist. Lauren takes the lead on the worshipful mashup “Shout To The Lord/How Great Thou Art,” which reminds us that nothing compares to the promise we have in Him! Next, the trio delivers an incredible a Capella version of the classic “Oh Glorious Love,” which praise Christ for His Love for us! “I Heard The Voice Of Jesus Say,” puts the group’s smooth harmonies on display. This version has slow jazz piano style to it that fits Debra Talley’s voice perfectly. Each member gets a verse on the classic “I Will Sing Of My Redeemer,” which is done here in a beautiful a Capella arrangement. “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” features each member and stays true to the traditional arrangement. He is always faithful!!! Amen! Next, the trio covers the Fanny Crosby classic “Pass Me Not.” The beautiful a Capella arrangement puts their incredible vocals and the powerful message front and center. “Oh Savior, Savior! Hear my humble cry! While on others Thou art calling, do not pass me by.” “I Love To Tell The Story/ Blessed Assurance,” is another highly effective mashup (though there is only a short part of the chorus of “Blessed Assurance” included) that features the trio’s incredible harmonies once again. Lauren Talley takes the lead once again on a stellar a Capella arrangement of “When Jesus Breaks The Morning,” which looks toward our Heavenly home. “Oh How I Love Jesus/I Love That Name,” sees the classic hymn paired with a great song written by Roger Talley himself. “That name is Jesus. Wonderful Savior, Lord of All. I love that name.” “Be Still My Soul,” may sound familiar to Gaither Vocal Band fans as it is the tune to “I Then Shall Live.” The Talleys do the hymn justice here with a moving a Capella arrangement. This fantastic album closes with the classic “Amazing Grace.” Each member shines vocally on this powerful arrangement.
