While this is her national debut, Tiffany Coburn is no stranger to inspirational music. She is an accomplished vocalist having sung with several high profile groups including: Walt Disney World’s Voices of Liberty (for 20 years) and acappella supergroup Voctave. She has also been a background singer for Sandi Patty. Near To The Heart: Cherished Hymns & Songs Of Inspiration is a collection of timeless songs that are sure to delight listeners.
The album opens with “Praise To The Lord, The Almighty,” a old hymn dating back to 1680. This bombastic hymn showcases Coburn’s incredible range and powerful vocals as well as praising the Lord for His many blessings. “The Way Of Love,” is a tender mid-tempo ballad that proclaims the power of God’s Love. “Love has a way of always showing up at the right time!” “Not In My Strength,” is a beautiful hymn penned by Fanny Crosby, Wayne Haun, Don Poythress, and Tony Wood. This powerful lyric says: Not in my strength, but in Thine alone, I carry on toward the goal. Next, Coburns voice shines on the powerful “Easter Song (Hear The Bells Ringing),” which tells of the Resurrection. Coburn’s version of “Blessed Assurance,” is a standout on this record! I really enjoyed the groovy, jazzy arrangement and her vocal. “That’s What Love Can Do,” is another powerful, inspirational lyric that reminds us that: Love can change the world if we just believe. The title track is a tender ballad that describes the joy and peace that you feel near to the heart of God. Next, Coburn is joined by acappella group Voctave on a powerful rendition of the classic hymn:How Great Thou Art.” This incredible album closes with “Jesus,” a song of praise to Christ, who is our Savior! All glory be to Jesus!
