THOUGHTS:
Soulful three part harmonies with just a touch of country are on full display on this new recording from popular trio Three Bridges. Our Story features eleven songs of hope and inspiration that appeal to all generations. Elliott McCoy, Shannon Smith, and Jeremie Hudson deliver energetic and powerful vocals as well as the important message of the Gospel on this new CD.
This exciting new album kicks off with the mid-tempo tune “Count It Victory,” featuring the soulful lead of Shannon Smith. This song simply says “I’ve seen too many victories to let defeat have the last word.” While I enjoyed this track, I found it a bit too repetitive, but that’s being a bit nit picky. Elliott McCoy takes the lead on the upbeat, traditional style track “Down The Road To Damascus,” which asks: Have you had a come to Jesus moment like Paul did? “My Story,” the song that inspired the album title, is a poignant ballad that was originally made popular by Christian contemporary artists Big Daddy Weave.Three Bridges puts their own spin on this powerful testimony song. “If I told you my story, you would hear life overcome the grave.” Grace is greater than all my sin. Justice was served and mercy wins!! “To tell my story is to tell of Him!” The first single “God News Never Gets Old,” is a fun, groovy tune, featuring Shannon Smith, that is “an invitation to discover God’s goodness.” No matter how long ago Christ lived, the Good News of the Gospel is carried on by the Bible through the generations. The driving rhythm of “Like Jesus Did,” is sure to have listeners clapping along. This fun, mid-tempo tune featuring Smith encourages us to walk with Jesus and trust in His ways. “Faith Shines Brighter,” is another groovy, traditional style track that features the stellar tenor of Jeremie Hudson. This song tells of the Fiery Furnace and simply says: “Faith shines brighter in the fire.” “Live The Gospel,” is a beautiful ballad featuring Smith that proclaims: “I want to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ..” If we love with our life, the world might see the Love of Christ. We must live by His example and spread His Word through our actions. “God Did It,” is a fun, groovy tune that simply says that: “Everything that has happened to me that was good, God did it!” This is one of my favorite songs on this project. The call and response bit towards the end is sure to bring listeners to church! “Nothing But,” is a mid-tempo track that simply says: Nothing but the blood of Jesus can cleanse and save your soul. The groovy, mid-tempo track “Gonna Keep Livin’,” simply proclaims: “I’m gonna keep living after I die.” If you believe in Him, you will gain eternal life. Just change my residence to Heaven on high! This energetic project closes with a powerful, traditional style track “The King Of Love My Shepherd Is.” The stellar harmonies of this trio shine on this great track.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
GREAT VOCALS, GREAT SONGS, AND GREAT PRODUCTION QUALITY. THREE BRIDGES HAS DELIVERED ANOTHER STRONG ALBUM OF POWERFUL SONGS WITH THEIR SIGNATURE HARMONIES AND VOCALS. HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: “GOD DID IT,” “THE KING OF LOVE MY SHEPHERD IS,” “MY STORY,” AND “GOOD NEWS NEVER GETS OLD.”
