THOUGHTS:
Sunday Drive is back with another exciting recording. This talented family trio’s country gospel style shines on this new CD featuring ten songs full of heart and encouragement. The project opens with the mid-tempo track “Right Where You Want Me To Be.” Misty takes the lead (and will on most songs) on this easy listening track that asks the Lord to take control of our lives and guide us. “Born Again,” is a upbeat, mid-tempo track that joyfully proclaims: “I’m glad, so glad that I’ve been born again!” In Christ, we are made new. “I’m Not Gonna Leave,” is a beautiful ballad from the perspective of the woman who washed the feet of Jesus as well as a believer. It is a powerful declaration of faith saying: “With every breath and heartbeat, I’m not gonna leave your feet.” “What Can Change The World,” is fun yet profound tune that simply says: what can change the world is the one who never changes! Jeff Treece shines on this song that reminds us that Jesus is our firm foundation. He will never change! The title track “A Million Miles,” featuring Misty and written by Mark Bishop, encourages listeners that no matter how far you stray, you are never too far from God’s reach. God will pull you back up if you let Him! “A million miles is not too far for Grace.” “He Set Me Free,” is a mid-tempo song that simply says: I have joy and peace for Jesus lives in me! He set me free! He will set you free from your sin. He will break chains! “Living In The Middle Of His Will,” the first single from the project, is a catchy tune written by Diane Wilkinson and Lee Black. This great song “talks about how life gets sweeter in the place of peace found through following Christ.” The trio’s great harmonies are on full display on this classic Southern Gospel style song that could easily find its way onto a Kingdom Heirs CD. “Angels Sing My Victory Song,” is a powerful ballad that tells of a believer entering Heaven and praising God for they are home forever! Hallelujah! “Just Before The Dawn,” is a mid-tempo track that encourages us to keep pressing on no matter how difficult it gets. With Jesus, anything is possible! Jeff is featured once again on one of his classic novelty/comedy songs “It’s All About Me.” This track points out our society suffers from “me” syndrome. People tend to think that the world revolves around them. But the truth is that Christ is the one who deserves praise and focus. The song brings a very important point: what if Jesus only cared about himself? He would not have given His Life for us. So we must in turn give our lives to Him.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
SUNDAY DRIVE DELIVERED WITH THIS CD. I DEFINITELY ENJOYED THIS MORE THAN LAST YEAR’S RECORDING. GREAT SONGS, GREAT MESSAGE, VOCALS, AND PRODUCTION QUALITY. STANDOUT TRACKS INCLUDE: “LIVING IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS WILL,” “ANGELS SING MY VICTORY SONG,” AND “A MILLION MILES.” I WAS HAPPY TO SEE JEFF GET ANOTHER SOLO BESIDES HIS NOVELTY TRACK. ALSO, THE NOVELTY TRACK HERE WAS ESPECIALLY TIMELY AND PROFOUND.
OVERALL, THIS WAS A HIGHLY ENJOYABLE RECORDING!
4 OUT OF 5 STARS!
