THOUGHTS:
These DVDs are simply brilliant. But that is not surprising given these three powerhouse groups. This historic gathering of three of Country and Gospel's best was truly special. Stories, songs, and Christ were the focus of these great videos. Gospel and Country music fans will love the insightful stories told by each group that show how their roots are intertwined Rather than talk about each song, I will go through some of my highlights. First, the Gaither Vocal Band's version of "Chain Breaker" is to quote Joe Bonsall "annointed." Adam Crabb crushes it on A Few Good Men. It was truly special to see all three groups join together to sing this song of hope. Jesus is the chain breaker. He can take your pain away. He is your freedom. Believe in Him and He will break your chains. The Oak Ridge Boys shined on classics like "Elvira," and "Thank God For Kids," as well as new song "A Brand New Star." Duane Allen and the Boys also delivered a moving rendition of "Rest In You Tonight," which reminds us that in Christ we can find peace. Another highlight was Todd Suttles on "Jesus Loved Me." Suttles delivered a very emotional performance. I also loved "Sheltered In The Arms Of God," which was a tribute to Ben Speer. Larry Gatlin moved me to tears with his beautiful song "I Can Build Another House," which reminds us that friends and family matter more than material things. This was especially meaningful for those in attendance who were going through hard times. Dean Hopper had recently had health issues and Larry Gatlin hinself was preparing to have surgery to remove some noded in his throught. Also, it was dedicated to those in Texas who had just gone through the devastating hurricane. Wes Hampton was in top form on "There's Always A Place At The Table," and Bill Gaither also brought me to tears with "We Have This Moment, Today."
Overall, these videos are must haves. I loved the stories, the songs, the funny moments, and was deeply moved by their true hearts for Christ.
