THOUGHTS:
The award winning trio 11th Hour is back with another fresh and exciting recording entitled Silence The Stones. This powerhouse group featuring the voices of Amber Eppinette, Jaquita Lindsey, and Grant Gibson delivers the Gospel in song with a unique mix of deep southern style and modern Gospel music. I must preface this review with the fact that this is my first time listening to the group, but it definitely will not be my last.
This trio kicks off the recording with the rocking, swampy country style track "Doin' What's Right," which showcases the trio's exquisite harmonies and reminds listeners that there is nothing like doing what's right. The driving country rhythm continues with the banjo infused "God Will Deliver Me," which features Grant Gibson. This fun song reminds us that God is faithful. Amber Eppinette shines on the story song "I'd Like To Meet The Preacher," which honors those people of faith who have showed the way. We all have someone who prayed for us and taught us about the Lord. This song simply says I'd like to thank those who showed them the way. "I Want To Praise Him," continues the Gospel feel complete with great organ accompaniment. Grant Gibson gives another great performance on the piano ballad "Hallelujah," which praises Christ the Redeemer of our souls. By His Blood, we have been set free! Eppinette is let loose once again on the rocking "I'll Be The First One There," which says: I cannot contain the Good News of the Gospel! I have to testify!! I'm not ashamed of the Name of Jesus!! The title track is taken form Luke 19:40 in which Jesus says to the Pharisees, "If they keep quiet, the stone will cry out." This groovy song simply says: the Devil cannot steal our joy! Give the Lord the Glory and let it silence the stones!! "Power In Prayer," is another soulful track that features Eppinette and says: there is a direct line to the throne room where you can find someone who cares. When it seems like all hope is lost, there is power in prayer! Grant Gibson is featured once again on the ballad "I Want You Beside Me," which talks about the importance of friends who believe and keep you accountable. This exciting recording closes with a moving lyric "Let Grace In," which features the beautiful vocals of alto Jaquita Lindsey. This well crafted song simply says: Healing can only begin when you let Grace in. God is with you through it all! The wrong can be made new! "Tell yourself to start again, you can experience God's Mercy when you let grace in."
