It's that special time of year again! Well almost! While we wait until Christmas, the Perrys have a new CD that is sure to put you in the spirit! This project was a long time coming for this great Southern Gospel family group. A Very Perry Christmas is a collection of the group's favorite holiday songs!
The nine song recording kicks off with the classic "A Holly Jolly Christmas" which uses the same track and arrangement as the one used by Ernie Haase & Signature Sound. Beloved bass singer Tracy Stuffle has a step out line on this bouncy standard. Libbi Perry Shuffle shines on "Silver Bells" and the ballad "Love Is Alive Forever." Lead singer Andrew Goldman blew me away with his rendition of the popular "O Holy Night," which is one of his most requested songs. Baritone Troy Peach delivers the lyric of "Silver And Gold," which showcases his smooth voice well. Jared Shuffle is featured on the fun Hawaiian Christmas classic "Mele Kalikimaka." Stuffle has really improved as a vocalist as evidence by this fun bass feature. The group closes this Christmas Celebration with "We Wish You A Merry Christmas," which features a great rousing orchestration.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
WITH A VERY PERRY CHRISTMAS, THE PERRYS HAVE DELIVERED A TRULY ENJOYABLE CHRISTMAS RECORDING. EACH MEMBER SHINES IN THIS PROJECT, BUT THE STANDOUT TRACK FOR ME IS ANDREW GOLDMAN'S VERSION OF "O HOLY NIGHT." I WOULD HAVE LIKED MAYBE ONE MORE SONG TO FILL IT OUT. BUT OVERALL THIS IS SURE TO PUT YOU IN THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT!
