BRIEF THOUGHTS:

It has been a few years since Bill & Gloria Gaither have gathered the Homecoming crew together at their hometown studio. Now, they are back with two brand new live DVDs featuring nearly 125 of Southern Gospel Music's most beloved Homecoming Family artists.

These exciting new videos produced by Gaither and Barry Jennings are welcome additions to the incredible Homecoming series. Audiences are sure to love performances by the award-winning Oak Ridge Boys, the Gatlin Brothers, Jeff & Sheri Easter, the Booth Brothers, Russ Taff, Goodman Revival, the Gaither Vocal Band, Mark Lowry, Lynda Randle, David Phelps, The Isaacs and Ernie Haase & Signature Sound just to name a few.

I personally loved the blend of the old and new on these videos. Gaither successfully recaptured the magic of the original videos featuring legendary artists such as JD Sumner, George Younce, Glen Payne, Vestal Goodman, and Jake Hess. Not only do these videos honor the past, they also include some of Southern Gospel's finest new artists including the Jim Brady Trio, Martin Family Circus, Bradley Walker, and many others.

Each featured artist gave great performances with several standing out.

"Does Jesus Care" was incredibly moving and nearly brought me to tears seeing Jim Murray break down over the loss of his wife. On a lighter note, the Goodman Revival's electrifying performance of "The Sweetest Song I Know" had me clapping and singing along! Other great performances included  "On The Banks Of The Promised Land" by Karen Peck & New River, "Yours Amen" by the Isaacs, "Sinner Saved By Grace" featuring Gene McDonald & Mike Allen, and "But God" by Larnelle Harris. However, my favorite performance on these videos was Ernie Haase & Signature Sound's  powerful take on Gaither's "I Do Believe." Baritone Dustin Doyle nailed his verses in his first Gaither Homecoming video appearance. This was also EHSS bass singer Paul Harkey's first Gaither video as well. It was great seeing the group back with the Homecoming friends.

Overall, these videos take fans back to the place where it all began over 20 years ago. They capture the magic of the early videos while showcasing the fresh, and exciting new artists of today. Memorable performances, moving testimonials, and timeless songs

Both videos get a 5 out of 5 from me!!

Go out and get these ASAP!
