THOUGHTS:
Kramer is a name that should be familiar to fans of Gospel Music. Rachel West Kramer has had a successful career as a soloist. Along with her husband Scott, she has produced several quality solo recordings including the well received Majestic Glory. The two have been blessed over their over twenty year career of music and ministry. In 2014, the family decided to form a trio with the addition of their 19 year old daughter Maria. This dynamic trio is already taking the Southern Gospel Music field by storm. Dedicated to spreading the Gospel and to producing great music, The Kramers are sure to have a blessed career.
This incredible debut trio recording includes many classic hymns and Gaither penned songs which are sure to delight listeners everywhere. The CD opens with a rousing rendition of “Revive Us Again” which showcases the beautiful harmonies of the family. Rachel West Kramer shines on the tender “Sweet, Sweet Spirit” which is a song a comfort and praise. The Kramers cover one of Gaither’s classic hits “Because He Lives.” This incredible version features the powerful vocals of Rachel West Kramer as well.
Maria Kramer takes the lead on the triumphant “I Stand Amazed In The Presence” which is a powerful song of praise. Maria is also featured on the upbeat “I Go To The Rock” and the quartet style “Twenty-Four Hours A Day,” which is sure to be a hit! The latter talks about the faithfulness of God. He walks with me always. Every minute of every day, He is with me. Amen! A major highlight for me on this record is the beautiful rendition of the Goodman classic “Who Am I.” This version features both Maria Kramer and guest vocalist Tanya Goodman Sykes who give stellar performances. The driving, upbeat “I’ve Got Good News Everybody” which once again features Maria, tells of the transforming power of Jesus Christ. I’ve got good news to share!! Jesus Christ has changed my life forever! One of my favorite songs from the Gaither catalogue is “More Than Ever” which reminds us of the incredible sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The old rugged cross was for YOU!! You are wanted; you’re precious, and special in His eyes. Maria Kramer is shaping up to be one of Southern Gospel’s best young vocalists, in my opinion, as this stellar performance shows. Her talent is also showcased on her cover of another beautiful Goodman classic “Look For Me.” This incredible song sets our minds toward Heaven and our Eternal life that awaits. We will see our loved who have gone on and live with Christ forever. The album concludes with a powerful rendition of another Gaither classic “I Believe In A Hill Called Mount Calvary” which features both Rachel and Maria. They do justice to this beautiful lyric and the original version made popular by the Gaither Vocal Band (which is one of my favorite groups and songs of all time). I’ll still cling to the old rugged cross!!
FINAL THOUGHTS:
