THOUGHTS:

2016 is starting off strong!!! This exciting new album from Master’s Voice truly has something for everybody!! This CD was my introduction to this group and I must say I’m impressed. Master’s Voice, led by founder and tenor singer Ricky Capps, was formed in 1995 as a trio. Last year upon the departure of their baritone, the group transformed into a quartet with the addition of bass singer Jerry Pilgrim. Pilgrim is no stranger to Southern Gospel Music having served as final bass singer for the Old Time Gospel Hour Quartet (2005-2007). Stan Watson (of Paul’s Journey also joined the group at this time filling the baritone position. Rounding out the quartet is former 11th Hour vocalist Justin Morphis singing lead and Theron Perry at the piano. This CD is a great introduction to this stellar group!!

Undivided begins with the first radio single “I Can Hardly Wait To Fly” a driving mid-tempo tune which showcases the group’s new blend. Stan Watson nails the second verse with his exciting baritone voice. Cody McVey’s brass decorations on this song are great as well. Next, the groovy “Goodbye To Goodbye” is a great song about the joys of Heaven featuring the soulful voice of Justin Morphis. Morphis is a stellar young talent whose voice reminds me of Jason Crabb. Jerry Pilgrim’s dynamic bass can be heard on this track’s step out lines as well. Ricky Capps takes the lead on a beautiful ballad called “How Long A Lifetime” which reminds us to cherish our family and friends. Never take today for granted. Treat each moment as a gift. Capps has a beautiful tenor voice and delivers the lyric well. The groovy mid-tempo number “Lord Of Mercy” features the smooth bass of Jerry Pilgrim. Pilgrim knocks this song out of the park! This simple song says Lord of Mercy have mercy on me for my sins are many. Justin Morphis is featured again on a mid-tempo country flavored ballad called “Here I Am Again.” This well written song is a plea to Christ for forgiveness. Here I am calling out your name! No matter what you’ve done, He will never forsake. He has forgiven you for all your sins!! Amen! Pilgrim is featured again on the tender mid-tempo track “I Know What He Did For Me” which proclaims the transforming power of Christ and His Grace. Christ erased all of my sin and my past is history!! Amen! Pilgrim gives a great performance on this song which showcases his higher register. Ricky Capps once again takes the lead on the driving up-tempo tune “Somebody Is Me.” This song says that revival starts with you and me! Don’t be afraid to praise His name!! Share your joy that you have been saved!! The tender ballad “This Same Jesus,” featuring Morphis, beautifully praises the Christ who died for our sins. Next, “Things God Doesn’t Know” features Stan Watson on the second verse. This mid-tempo number reminds us that God doesn’t know how to love us any less or how to leave us. He doesn’t know how to turn His back on us! Now isn’t that a comfort to know! Morphis delivers another standout performance on the ballad about spreading His Word called “Send Somebody.” Justin and Stan are both featured on the next track “Ain’t It Good,” which simply says it is good to know about Jesus. Ain’t it good to sing about His love, and know that His blood washed our sins away! This incredible project concludes with another well crafted ballad called “Every Thing The Blood Touches Lives” which features Pilgrim and Morphis. His blood will never lose its power!

FINAL THOUGHTS:
