THOUGHTS:
The Talleys have been a leading trio in Southern Gospel Music since 1996. This brand new project is a perfect example of their musical excellence. This CD is full of what Lauren Talley calls “message music” and each song says something important. With songwriters such as Lee Black, Dianne Wilkinson, Kenna Turner West, you can’t go wrong, in my opinion. Each vocalist gets their chance to shine. Lauren Talley takes the lead on the powerful anthem “There Is Coming A Day” which looks to Heaven and the promise of eternal life. This is a beautiful song of praise to the Lord and His love for us. Lauren’s exciting and energetic voice is also evident in the groovy tune “Naaman.” She is also featured on the beautifully orchestrated “Jesus’ Blood Is Enough” which simply says Jesus is all you need. His blood is enough for whatever is wrong in your life. Jesus can take your broken life and make you whole again. Amen! Lauren also takes the lead on the though provoking “The People In The Line.” This song reminds us to spread the Word of Christ to everyone we meet. We should show people love and respect and treat them as we want to be treated. Lauren’s other features include Ronny Hinson’s up-tempo tune “Who But God” and the Fanny Crosby classic “I Love To Tell The Story” with “Blessed Assurance.”
Talley patriarch Roger is featured on the mid-tempo tune “Somebody’s Story” which reminds people to “walk a mile in someone else shoes.” We need to lay down our pride, pray more, and pay attention to others and take time to listen to peoples’ stories. What a powerful message!!
Debra Talley’s notable features include the tender ballad “This Thing Called Grace” written by Rebecca Peck and Dianne Wilkinson. His grace is the light that shines upon your face. His grace is amazing, boundless, and life changing. Her sweet and tender alto can also be heard on the heartfelt ballad “But I Need You More” which simply says I need more of you Lord. This song is a beautiful prayer that says Lord, be my everything. The Lord is all we need. What a powerful message during this Holiday season. We don’t need things to make us happy, but rather the love of Christ!!
FINAL THOUGHTS:
As the title track says, God is faithful after all this time!! I would also say the same applies for the music of the Talleys. The quality and songs are top notch! Definitely a must buy!!
