The legendary Inspirations are back again with another exciting new recording featuring ten new songs of hope and faith. This CD marks the first since the departure of both founder Martin Cook and lead singer Matt Dibler. Roland Kesterson, who has traveled with the group for a few years, took the lead position and Wyatt Austin joined to fill the pianist spot.
The album opens with the mid-tempo, classic styled “He’s Coming Again,” which features Roland Kesterson and simply says: the Lord is coming again to take his children Home! “There’ll Never Be A Giant,” is a fun, mid-tempo tune of encouragement featuring and written by Roland Kesterson. It uses the story of David and Goliath to remind us that we will never face a giant problem that God cannot bring down. When you feel down and out, remember that the battle is not yours! With God, all things are possible and he will lead you through your trial. Veteran baritone singer Eddie Dietz is featured on the Squire Parsons classic “Lord I Want To Be A Blessing,” a simple, yet profound prayer song. “Wouldn’t Change The End,” is a fun, up-tempo quartet tune that features Kesterson and some great step-out lines from veteran bass singer Marlin Shubert. This toe-tapping track simply says: There are things in my life I’d like to change, but I wouldn’t change the ending of the story. In the final chapter life begins! Bass singer Marlin Shubert and Kesterson share the lead on the tender ballad “She Gets Another Prayer Through Again.” This song reminds listeners of the power of prayer. Nothing the Devil can raise can stand against the power of prayer! Archie Watkins takes the lead on the mid-tempo tune “His Hand Reached Further Down,” which reminds listeners that no matter how far you stray, Christ still reaches His Hand for you. He can save you from the depths of your sin! “God’s Hand reached further down than I could reach up.” Watkins is still an incredible tenor at his age and this song definitely showcases his instantly recognizable voice. Band member Luke Vaught takes the lead on the mid-tempo groove “Obey The Spirit Of The Lord,” which simply says: I’ll follow the Lord wherever He leads. Each member is featured on the up-tempo tune “That’s Right Where He’ll Be.” This fun, energetic song simply reminds listeners that Christ is a faithful friend. He will never forsake you and He hears your every plea! “Where there’s a life that’s in need of changing, that’s right where He’ll be!” Watkins is featured once again on the mid-tempo “The End Of Time Is Near,” which tells of the signs that will tell us that Christ’s Second Coming is near! The album closes with an interesting song penned by Sandy Knight entitled “Judas Kissed The Door.” This unique mid-tempo tune tells the story of Judas’ betrayal of Jesus and encourages listeners to not make the same mistake that he made. Accept God’s great Salvation and be saved!
FINAL THOUGHTS:
THIS ALBUM ONCE AGAIN SHOWCASES THE CLASSIC STYLINGS OF THIS GREAT QUARTET. EACH MEMBER SHINES ON THIS HIGHLY ENJOYABLE CD. ROLAND KESTERSON EFFORTLESSLY STEPS INTO THE LEAD POSITION AND BLENDS WELL WITH VETERAN INSPIRATIONS MEMBERS ARCHIE WATKINS, EDDIE DIETZ AND MARLIN SHUBERT WHO ALL ARE IN GREAT VOCAL FORM ON THIS CD AS WELL. HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: "WOULDN'T CHANGE THE END," " HIS HAND REACHED FURTHER DOWN," "THAT'S RIGHT WHERE HE'LL BE," AND "OBEY TGE SPIRIT OF THE LORD." OVERALL, THIS IS A GREAT QUARTET PROJECT FEATURING WELL CRAFTED SONGS, GREAT VOCALS, AND TOP NOTCH PRODUCTION QUALITY.
