THOUGHTS:

The Kingdom Heirs are back again with yet another fresh, exciting new project! This “table project” features songs that this award winning quartet has always wanted to record including classics and more recent hits. From the opening notes of “I Just Feel Like Something Good Is About To Happen,” to the close of “Better Hurry Up,” listeners will be taken on a fun musical ride. This exciting new project is the first to feature baritone Loren Harris who recently joined the quartet following the departure of Brian Alvey. Harris is no stranger to Southern Gospel having previously served as the lead of the Perrys. His powerful and smooth baritone blends perfectly with the group in my opinion.

Speaking of Harris, two of the best songs on this project feature him. The quartet pays homage to Harris’s time with the Perrys by recording two of the group’s hit songs from his tenure: the barn burner “Damascus Road” and powerful anthem “Calvary Answers For Me.” Both tracks are given new life with the incredible Kingdom Heirs harmonies listeners have come to expect. The songs also show Harris’s range and vocal ability. Harris is also featured on “Never Made A Promise,” which was released on the group’s latest mainline recording A New Look. Harris turns in an incredible performance on this fresh new recording of the song. This song is powerful reminder that God has never broken His promises. Every morning His mercies are new!

Lead singer Arthur Rice is featured throughout the record but most notably on the Kingsmen classic “The Master of Sea.” This mid-tempo track simply says that Christ is always in control! Though the storms of life rage, He is sailing with you! He is the master of the sea!! Rice, in my opinion, is one the best lead singers in Southern Gospel and this track showcases his vocal talent.

Bass singer Jeff Chapman has several features on this record. Chapman shines on the fun, up-tempo tune “I Want To Walk Everyday With My Lord.” This fresh take on the 1991 Gold City song is my favorite track on this CD hands down! Chapman shines on his solo and hits some incredible low notes! Another standout feature for Chapman is on the often recorded classic “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow.” Chapman’s upper register is showcased beautifully on this track. His smooth bass is also featured on the traditional convention song “I’m Telling The World About His Love.”

Tenor Jerry Martin takes the lead on the second verse of “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow,” delivering a stellar performance. He is also featured on the Mosie Lister penned standard “How Long Has It Been.” His crystal clear tenor fits this song perfectly in my opinion. Martin also shines on the powerful harmonies throughout the record most notably on “Calvary Answers For Me.”

The group’s incredible harmonies are showcased as well on the Gaither track “I Just Feel Like Something Good Is About To Happen,” and the upbeat “Better Hurry Up.”

FINAL THOUGHTS:

This CD is truly fantastic! The Kingdom Heirs have once again delivered another solid recording featuring their incredible harmonies and vocals. Loren Harris is a stellar addition to this already impressive lineup. This formation of the quartet is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Each member turns in great performances. Highlights include Jeff Chapman on “I Want To Walk Everyday With My Lord,” and Loren Harris on “Calvary Answers For Me,” & “Never Made A Promise.” Overall, this “table project” is not just Something Good, but rather something great!

5 out of 5 stars! MUST BUY!!!!
